1. Scope and Content of the Website
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the website operated by Tasseo AG, registered at Grosspeteranlage 5, 4052 Basel, Switzerland (hereinafter "Tasseo", "we", or "us"), accessible at www.tasseolab.com (the "Website"), and any online services, platforms, or tools made available by Tasseo, including Eureka and Ethicality, and any updates or releases thereof. By accessing or using these services, you are legally bound and hereby consent to these Terms of Use and the Tasseo Privacy Policy. These Terms of Use form a contract between Tasseo AG and you as the user ("User").
Tasseo is a B2B research intelligence platform providing AI-powered tools and related services to institutional and corporate customers in the academic publishing and research sector. The Website serves as the primary digital presence and distribution channel for Tasseo's product portfolio, including information on available solutions, access to registered user accounts, product documentation, and customer support resources. The content published on the Website is intended exclusively for professional and institutional audiences. Tasseo reserves the right to modify, expand, or restrict the scope of the Website and its content, or to temporarily or definitively cease publication of parts or the entirety of the Website, at any time and without prior notice.
2. Offered Services
Through the Website, Tasseo makes the following services available to registered users:
- Eureka: An AI-powered reviewer recommendation tool that identifies and suggests qualified peer reviewers based on semantic analysis of manuscript content, author profiles, publication history, and reviewer track records.
- Ethicality: An AI-driven research integrity tool designed to assist publishers, institutions, and funding agencies in detecting and managing research integrity risks across submissions and publications.
The scope, features, and pricing of each service are described in the respective product documentation and commercial agreements concluded between Tasseo and the customer. In the event of any conflict between these Terms of Use and a separately executed commercial agreement, the terms of the commercial agreement shall prevail.
Tasseo reserves the right to expand its product and service offering over time. Any new services made available through the Website will be subject to these Terms of Use unless otherwise specified.
3. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Tasseo Website and all affiliated online services, including all content, software, interfaces, and data products, are the property of Tasseo AG and the copyright of the Website belongs to Tasseo or its licensors. All intellectual property rights are reserved. Tasseo is a registered brand protected by the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property.
Users may not copy, hack, or modify the Website or online services, or falsely claim that any other site is associated with Tasseo. Users agree not to use the Website in any manner that violates any applicable laws, these Terms of Use, or that infringes the intellectual property of, or interferes with any other rights of, Tasseo and third parties. Any use of the Website in violation of these principles may give rise to civil claims, a claim for damages, and/or result in criminal proceedings.
4. Permitted Use and Restrictions
4.1 Permitted Use
Access to and use of the Website and its services is permitted solely for lawful professional purposes. Registered users may access the services subscribed to under their account, use the platform features in accordance with the applicable product documentation, and retrieve, review, and export data within the limits defined by their subscription tier. Access to Tasseo services is granted on the basis of a commercial agreement or a defined trial arrangement between Tasseo and the User's organization. Use of the services is limited to the scope and purposes agreed upon in that arrangement.
4.2 Restrictions
Users are expressly prohibited from:
- Using the Website or any of its services for purposes other than those expressly permitted under these Terms of Use or the applicable commercial agreement;
- Reproducing, distributing, sublicensing, selling, or otherwise making available any content, data, or outputs generated by Tasseo's services to third parties without prior written consent from Tasseo;
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code or underlying algorithms of any Tasseo product or service;
- Using automated systems, bots, scrapers, or other means to access, extract, or index content from the Website in excess of normal use;
- Uploading or transmitting any content that is unlawful, harmful, or in violation of third-party intellectual property rights;
- Sharing credentials or accessing services beyond the scope agreed upon in the applicable commercial arrangement;
- Circumventing any technical or administrative access controls implemented by Tasseo.
Tasseo reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to any user who is found to be in breach of these restrictions, without prejudice to any other remedies available under applicable law.
5. User Registration
Access to Tasseo's services requires the creation of a registered user account. The registration process is subject to the following conditions:
5.1 Eligibility
Registration is available exclusively to legal entities and professionals acting on behalf of an organization. Individual consumer registrations are not permitted.
5.2 Registration Process
To register, users must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information, including their full name, professional email address, organization name, and any additional information required during the onboarding process. Users represent and warrant that all information provided during registration is accurate to the best of their knowledge. Upon successful registration, users will receive account credentials granting access to the services included in their subscription.
5.3 Account Security
Users are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for all activities conducted under their account. Any unauthorized access or suspected security breach must be reported to Tasseo immediately at contact@tasseolab.com.
5.4 Account Administration
Where an organization registers multiple users, a designated account administrator may be assigned to manage user access, permissions, and subscription-level settings. Tasseo reserves the right to verify the identity and professional affiliation of registrants prior to granting account access.
5.5 Suspension and Termination
Tasseo reserves the absolute right to deny, restrict, suspend, or permanently terminate access to any account or service at any time, without prior notice, and at its sole discretion, including but not limited to cases of suspected misuse, breach of these Terms of Use, or non-payment.
6. Consents Required from Users
During and following the registration process, users will be asked to provide the following consents:
6.1 Acceptance of Terms of Use
Users must explicitly accept these Terms of Use as a condition of registration. Access to any Tasseo service will not be granted prior to such acceptance.
6.2 Privacy Policy and Data Processing
Users will be required to acknowledge Tasseo's Privacy Policy, which governs the collection, processing, and storage of personal data in connection with account management and service delivery. Tasseo, the copyright holders and/or other parties provide the Website and its content "as is" without representations or warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, and fitness for a particular purpose. Tasseo reserves the right to change these Terms of Use at any time by posting changes to this page of the Website without prior notice. Please check these Terms of Use periodically for any modifications. Your continued use of any service following the posting of any changes will constitute acceptance of and agreement to those changes.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Use is found to be invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. In any such case, the contracting parties shall negotiate in good faith to substitute the invalid provision with a valid arrangement as close as possible to the original intent.
12. Jurisdiction and Governing Law
Basel, Switzerland shall be the place of jurisdiction for all legal disputes arising from these Terms of Use, regardless of the User's domicile or place of business. Swiss law applicable at the place of jurisdiction of Tasseo AG shall apply exclusively.
